Indulge in Harry Potter in Part 2 of this Walking Tour London

5 extra places you should not miss on part 2 of the Harry Potter LondonTour

St. Paul’s

A tall yet beautiful dome that stands in the center of the Cathedral, is St. Paul’s, the most famous church in London. We’ll be obliged to lead you to St Paul’s through our Harry Potter-guided tour. Its whispering gallery is what excites people to visit this place which comes after you cover 257 stairs right up to the gallery. Don’t worry the climb will be worth it when you’ll hear the softest whisper till the distance of 42m. The breathtaking view of Central London that the brick spiral staircase leads you to is worth all the stairs you take after the whispering gallery. Additionally, St. Paul’s also offers you an extremely serene view of the river Thames with the city center via a metal spiral staircase called the Golden gallery. No brownie points for guessing that the spiral staircase that students took to Professor Trelawney’s class in the Prisoner of Azkaban, was as ginormous as what we see at St. Paul’s.

Australia House

Australia House is home to the Australian High Commission, and it is the longest continuously occupied foreign mission in London, opened by King George V in 1918. To Harry Potter fans this building is firmly associated with Gringotts Bank, the only bank of the wizarding world owned and operated by goblins. In the books, its main offices are located in North Side and, according to Hagrid, other than Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Gringotts is the safest place in the entire wizarding world. The Bank played host to several important scenes in “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2”. The filmmakers filmed inside the real-life location, and also duplicated it at Leavesden Studios. The opulent interior of Australia House, which is all marble and huge glass chandeliers, was an ideal setting for Gringotts.

Blackfriars Bridge

Blackfriars Bridge is 923 ft long, with five wrought iron arches, to match its sister railway bridge, which is now demolished. It was opened by Queen Victoria in 1869. As you cross, you will notice stone carvings on the piers of the bridge. On the Eastern side the carvings represent marine life, with a variety of seabirds, and on the Western side there are carvings of freshwater birds. These birds are there to remind us that the Thames is both a sea, and fresh water, river. The bridge takes its name from an earlier bridge that was used by the Blackfriars, a Dominican Order of friars who wore black habits, rather than the more usual brown ones. They had a priory near the site of Blackfriars Station, from 1275 until 1538, when it was closed by King Henry VIII during his Dissolution of the Monasteries. In Harry Potter, Blacksfriars Bridge appeared in the 2007 film “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”, in the scene where the Order of the Phoenix members pass underneath it, on their flight from number 4, Privet Drive to Grimmauld Place.

Millennium Bridge

The Millennium Bridge is a footbridge in London. We make sure that you don’t mistake it for just another footbridge through our fine-crafted compelling real stories about the place. It is famous for its view, beauty, and its structure which you’ll see in your Harry Potter London walk. The height of the bridge gives you a crystal clear view of the ravishing city of London with a hint of the gorgeous River Thames. Also, you can book yourself a boat to be a part of water adventures at the Thames River. From College of arms which is home to various arms that were used during World War I to Foxtrail where you can enjoy a fun mystery-solving activity, we take you through it all. Oh, and did you know that the Brockdale bridge that was destroyed by the Death Eaters in the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie is the Millennium Bridge in real life.

Scotland Yard Place

Did you know, if we go back in the day, there were just watchmen and no official police before a small body of police was planted in London? This body formerly was headquartered in Whitehall which lead to a great Scotland Yard, hence the name Scotland Yard Place. It is right above the River Thames at Victoria Embankment. But what is in it for Potterheads? Well, The Scotland Yard is the same place that is shown as the Ministry Of Magic’s exterior in the Harry Potter series. Yes, this is where the Red phone box was kept that helped the characters enter the ministry by dialing the magic numbers. Nothing to be sad about, you can still enjoy the view that you’ve watched in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. You may also recall this place from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 where Harry, Hermione, and Ron were seen sliding into the Ministry of Magic.

Kings Cross Station

It is one of the most crucial railway terminals that connect different spots in the UK. Needless to say, it attracts millions of visitors every day. Of course, it is a means to travel but also a way to the hearts of Potterheads as it was the sole inspiration to Platform 9 ¾ of Harry Potter movies. Although you cannot get on the Hogwarts Express here, you’ll enjoy getting clicked with the luggage trolley that was shown on the big screen, for a few bucks. You can also buy yourself wands, wizard robes, and, so much more from a Harry Potter-themed shop at the station. We’d love to show you some famous places around the station too. Some of them are the Coal drops yard which is an industrial place. You will find some places to shop and bars to sip on some drinks across the streets of this industrial place and we’ll accompany you throughout.
